หลังจากที่ได้ผ่านประสบการณ์มามากจากการทำงานร่วมกับองค์การยูนิเซฟ ในฐานะทูตสันถวไมตรีของยูนิเซฟประจำประเทศญี่ปุ่น แอกเนส ชานได้สัมผัสกับความไม่ยุติธรรมในหมู่มนุษย์และสิทธิเสรีภาพที่ไม่ได้ถูกปกป้องและรักษาไว้ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเด็กที่อดตายจากความหิวโหย เด็กที่ถูกฆ่าจากสงคราม เด็กที่เป็นเหยื่อของพวกค้ามนุษย์ แอกเนสได้ประจักษ์ว่าเหตุการณ์เหล่านี้เกิดขึ้นในหลายประเทศทั่วโลก

เธอจึงอยากช่วยเด็กเหล่านี้ให้หลุดพ้นจากชะตากรรมที่พวกเขาได้รับไม่ว่าจะเป็นการถูกดขี่ การฆ่าตัวตาย สงคราม การก่อการร้าย การสังหารหมู่ และความรุนแรง โดยให้ผู้อ่านเห็นถึงปัญหาเหล่านี้และมีความหวังว่าเราจะอยู่ร่วมกันได้อย่างมีความสุข

Agnes Chan throughout her years as Japan’s UNICEF goodwill ambassador has seen it all that human rights are not protected - whether it’s children starved to death and children killed in war, or children exploited from human trafficking. She has seen this situation happening to children in many parts of the world.

Agnes wants to shed light to the serious problems such as bullying, suicide, war, terrorism, massacres and violence to the readers; she remains hopeful that we can choose our future, to make the right choice where we can live together meaningfully.
